Company Christmas Party for Large Groups in Berlin

Winterquartier Berlin — the name means “winter quarters” — sits in Berlin, Germany, and is built for large corporate Christmas parties. Its 2,500 m² of connected space give everyone room to breathe: a market area, an indoor ice rink and event halls. There's plenty to do beyond dinner, and the team here has run events this size for years.

Winterquartier Berlin · NAPOLEON KOMPLEX Friedrichshain · over 200 corporate events

The Winterquartier Berlin is built for large corporate Christmas parties and hosts events for up to 2,000 guests . Everyone fits comfortably, because the site in the NAPOLEON KOMPLEX — a former industrial complex in Friedrichshain — spans several large areas: a 1,500 m² Christmas market area, a 1,000 m² indoor ice rink with seven Bavarian curling lanes, plus Hall B (400 m²) and Hall C (250 m²). This lets large groups spread across parallel stations, instead of crowding into a single room.

Christmas party venue: how many guests actually fit?

Search for a Venue for a company Christmas party in Berlin with several hundred guests, and you'll quickly land on the same well-known addresses — and miss the space in Friedrichshain that's built around activity and movement, not just square metres. At Winterquartier, that means up to 2,000 people — without it ever feeling like a crowd. Instead of one big hall, the party spreads across several connected areas of the site. That's exactly what makes this scale work: no bottlenecks, no anonymity, just movement between the market area, the ice surfaces and the halls. For a full breakdown of the spaces, see the page Exclusive Event Space.

All areas sit on one site, so you never have to cross a street to get between them. For very large parties, you can book the venue exclusively — and the whole site is yours alone.

How do you feed 800 guests without everyone queuing?

The queue at the buffet is the classic party killer — and it's not caused by too little food, but by too few serving points. That's why we use a market model for large groups instead of one central buffet: several food stalls spread across the market area — grilled classics, Flammkuchen, Käsespätzle, stews and sweets, each with a vegetarian option — plus separate drinks stalls and mulled wine (Glühwein) huts — the same principle as the all-inclusive Christmas market.

. The effect works two ways: waiting time spreads across many short queues, and guests keep moving instead of sitting at an assigned table for four hours. Want a seated menu anyway? Combine the two: dinner in the halls for part of the group, the market area for the rest — or dinner first, market afterwards.

How do you keep that many people entertained?

With 800 guests, not everyone can do the same thing at once. Large parties work with parallel stations, with the group rotating between them:

Station 01

Bavarian curling tournament on seven lanes

Six Bavarian curling lanes on real ice and one weather-independent PVC lane run at the same time. Run it as a tournament with a group stage and a final, and it keeps several hundred people busy all evening. Our staff handle the briefings, the coaching and the scoring, so your team doesn't have to organise a thing. More on Bavarian curling.

7 lanes at once · staff included

Common mix-up: Bavarian curling often gets mixed up with regular Bavarian curling. Here's the difference that matters for your planning: you play Bavarian curling in normal winter boots, and no one sweeps with a broom — the rules take five minutes to explain. That's exactly why it works so well with mixed groups, where not everyone is the sporty type.

Station 02

Ice rink with ice disco and live DJ

1,000 m² of real ice hold a large crowd at once — including everyone who just wants to watch. Ice skates and penguin skating aids are handed out and charged for on site, in every size. With large groups, that's the step that ends in chaos without a routine in place. More on that under Ice rink and Team on Ice.

Station 03

Winter games circuit

Log sawing, nail hammering and other modules combine into a rotating circuit of stations — several teams at once, short rounds, constant rotation. For large groups, this format works best because no one waits around for long. You'll find more formats in our 15 Christmas party games.

Station 04

Stage, music and an aftershow in the club

Hall B provides stage space with sound and lighting for speeches, awards and the year in review. After that, the evening continues at the in-house club — so 800 guests don't need to find a second venue for the night.

How much lead time do we need?

Our professional events team helps you plan every part of it — the design concept, the menu, the perfect running order. You don't need to know how to schedule a party for 800 people; we work that out together with you. Here's how it usually goes:

  1. Enquiry and date booking: as early as possible. The best December dates for large groups tend to go first — at this size, one party takes over the entire venue.
  2. Concept and scheduling: Zone layout, stations, timeline, technical and stage requirements.
  3. Catering details: Number of stalls, menu selection, vegetarian and vegan options, drinks packages.
  4. Final headcount: just before the event — what counts here is the reliable number, not the optimistic one (see below, this also has tax implications).

Last-minute large bookings aren't ruled out, but they depend on catering staff and technical availability. If you're planning a big party, reserve the date even while the concept and guest numbers are still open.

How much does a party of this size cost?

There's no useful list price for large groups — the range is simply too wide, from a market-style area with a drinks package to an exclusive venue with dinner, a stage programme and a club. What we can share publicly is where the food starts: Set menus from €99 net per person (higher tiers at €109 and €118) — all menus are listed on this page Christmas Dinner Berlin. We price all-inclusive packages and exclusive bookings individually.

The tax framework usually matters more to your budget than the quoted price: €110 gross per employee stays tax-free as an allowance — and for large groups, the exact number of attendees decides whether you stay under that limit. How the allowance is calculated, and the most common trap to avoid, is on the pricing page.

How do guests get there — and home again at night?

An often overlooked point: with 800 guests, getting there is part of the event. The venue is in Berlin-Friedrichshain, within walking distance of Ostkreuz station — one of the best-connected hubs in the city, with ring and regional rail (route). For large groups, that's the decisive advantage over venues out on the edge of the city: the journey home works at two in the morning without organised shuttles. Nobody has to wait for a shared taxi.

Who is in charge on the night if something goes wrong?

At this scale, that is the real question behind all the others. Large parties here are managed setup to teardown — with dedicated on-site contacts who know the running order. For you that means: if the technical setup stumbles, the schedule slips, or more guests than expected turn up at the skate hire counter, it's not your problem. Whoever looks after the party on your side should be able to celebrate along with everyone else — that's the standard we set ourselves. For an overview of all formats, see Christmas Party Berlin; smaller teams can find their format at Christmas party for small groups.

Experience tip: The most common planning mistake with large parties is too tight a schedule. When 800 people have to move from the ice rink to dinner and then on to the stage, every changeover needs a buffer. Two well-placed programme items with room to breathe work far more reliably than five on a tight clock.

Frequently asked questions about large corporate Christmas parties

How many guests can the venue hold?

For up to 2,000 guests. The space includes a 1,500 m² Christmas market area, a 1,000 m² indoor ice rink with seven Bavarian curling lanes, plus Hall B (400 m²) and Hall C (250 m²) — all on one connected site at the Napoleon Komplex, a former industrial site in Friedrichshain.

How do you avoid queues for food at a large Christmas party?

By spreading food and drink stalls across the market area instead of running one central buffet. The wait splits into lots of short queues, and guests keep moving rather than standing still. You can combine this with a seated menu in the halls.

What are some ideas for a large Christmas party with Bavarian curling?

For large groups, parallel stations work best. Run a Bavarian curling tournament on all seven lanes at once. Go ice skating with an ice disco on 1,000 m² of real ice. Set up a winter games circuit for several teams, and keep a stage programme for speeches and awards. The evening winds down in the venue’s own club.

How much lead time does a company Christmas party for 300 or more guests need?

As early as possible — the best December dates go first, because a party this size takes over the whole site. Our events team then handles everything else with you: concept, design, menu planning and the running order. We only need your final guest number shortly before the event.

Can you book the venue exclusively?

Yes. For larger parties, you can book the whole site exclusively, so the market area, indoor ice rink and halls are reserved for your event only.

How well connected is the venue for large groups?

The venue is in Berlin-Friedrichshain, and Ostkreuz station is within walking distance. The ring and regional rail lines get everyone home even late at night, without organised shuttles — a decisive advantage for large groups over venues on the edge of the city.
